Film Poster Analysis
1) "from the director of" is a way of getting fans of a certain movie to be attracted to yours.
2) "Conjuring" Definition: The performance of tricks which are seemingly magical, typically involving sleight of hand.
4) The image of a noose in a film poster is eerie and normally associated with suicide and death and is in the middle of the screen.
5) The house is in the middle at the back surrounded by fog making the house mysterious and like its hiding some thing.
6) The shadow of the child is floating like the body is hanging from the noose
7) The Billing block is typical of a film poster as it promote the creators of the movie
Scream
1) The top of the poster feature the creators names which is typical of a poster for a film
2) The main image of the poster look like a knife swell as being the mask of the main killer.
3) The blood on the knife i fresh and looks as if it has only just been placed there.
4) The black background is typical of a horror film as it creates a sense of evilness.
5) The billing block features the creators names which is typical for a poster of a movie
Sinister
1) The producers names of other horror and physiological movies therefore we can expect a similar connections as well as several other conventions from other movies.
2) The focal point of the poster is the word sinister the font is typically creepy and plays on the title "sinister" presenting the reader with a supernatural feeling. This text colour contrasts with the back of the wall making it stand out to the reader.
3) The main selling point of the poster is equally disturbing and typically terrifying. The image depicts and angry pair of demonic eyes. This goes along with the tag line "once he sees you you can't be saved" The image is drawn by blood which makes it even more disturbing and blood is typical of a horror movies.
4) The character in the poster is anonymous which may be to emphasise his or her feelings and emotions that they are non-existence.
5) The uses of a little girl may be to show that she is weak and vunerable but also innocent which contrasts with the blood that is being dragged along the walls
